Feb 2013 John's Amazing 65 Buick Riviera
Thanks to John for allowing us to use his Pride & Joy as our very first Thunder Downunder Car of the Month.
I'm sure you'll agree, this car is just beautifull, When we decided to go ahead and create a U.S. Classic Car Forum and we knew part of it's content would be a Car of the Month section it was a no brainer to use John's car as our very first COTM.
Anyone who knows John knows that this car is no Garage or Trailer queen, If there's a Cruise on John's there,
I think the Moto......"Dont hide em Drive em" might have been written by John..
Name: John Coogan Forum Name: The 65 Country / State Aust Vic.
Vehicle Make: Buick Model: Riviera Year : 1965 Body Type: Coupe
Body Colour: Kandy Tangerine Interior Colour: Cream with orange ostrich leather
Engine: Buick 401 nail head original engine rebuilt, with some Chrome & paint
Transmission: Auto Differential : Standard factory 3.07
Standard Equip:
It has Power front windows ,power steering, speed alert, tilt steering column, remote boot release
Added Extras:
After market vintage a/c, Wheels.
Purchased From:
I found her online in the states and I kept going back to look at it. I'd never seen one before and was drawn to its unique styling. At the time I owned a ZC Fairlane so I sold the Fairlane negotiated a deal on the Riviera and had it shipped over.
Modifications:
She started life in sea foam green and was painted Kandy Tangerine. It had wires on it when imported and after a year or so I changed the wheels. It was given an interior makeover in cream and orange with a roof console added.
Wheels:
Unique wheels Super Supreme 15" with wide white wall tyres.
Work You've Done or had done:
It is in great condition and so far I just keep it washed and polished.
Future Plans:
It will be lowered, not sure if it will be a 3" drop with new springs or bagged.
What do you enjoy most about your Car:
Cruising in it , the deep rumble of the exhaust. The styling.
The fun of driving it never gets old and just meeting up with others and talking cars.

Colour, stance, wheels and tyres, plus a nailhead, got it all!
I've always enjoyed seeing this one when it's out and about.
