Hi Everybody...thinking of changing my starter motor to a high torque one. I have a 65 thunderbird 390 Y block. Has anyone changed theirs and where can I pick one up at right price in Melbourne. Thanks...Spits 65 Bird.

Hi,

I got mine locally (well in Castlemaine, VIC!), here is the web link:

http://www.caenterprises.com.au/hs_dbase/format_search.php?Z3Jfc3RhcnRlcnMuaW5pK2FsbHNlYXJjaA==

It is on my 62 Tbird with 184 teeth flexplate, works a treat, selling for $350 and made in Australia if I'm not mistaken.

Hi,
Picked up a starter motor from VPW Epping today and having it fitted at the auto electricians tomorrow morning. Hope it's nice and straight forward. Thanks for the help. Kev.
