Don't worry too much guys it's not happening here for a while anyway. Where as plate recognition cameras they still have their problems with dirty and damaged plates and a 80% accuracy rate. In other words they cannot work 100%. Look at the Hume Freeway disaster with that system. With By-Law Officers they cannot use them properly in lane ways or cars parked close to each other. They have to site the label.
I don't know if any of you guys knew this in 2010 the state government was going to test latest technology in whereby rego labels have a small micro chip in them so they can see if you are speeding by point to point satellite. That would have been a disaster for privacy laws. Evil or Very Mad
Be on the lookout for face recognition cameras coming soon to stop fraudulent demerit point sharing. More money for their coffers.

Oddly enough, not long after this came into practice, someone set a company selling reminder stickers for your windscreen ( clever bugger ).

Yeah Clever idea, there's always someone thinking outside the box, How do you find not having the sticker, i guess at the end of the day all it means is a cleaner tidier looking windscreen.
