Phil laid to rest
Well guys Yesterday Friday 5th October at 2 pm, Our mate Phil was laid to rest at Tobin Brothers Funeral home in Berwick.
I dont know if there is such a thing as the perfect Funeral but if there is this one would have gone very close. Phils nephew Brett and Phil's amazing Kids Belinda Matt & Dean did him proud on the day. Words often don't capture the person but yesterdays Eulogy's were just perfect, talking about Phil the Family Man, Phil the Husband, Phil the Dad and Phil the Larakin (when he was younger).
Thanks to Chris, Kevin, Daniel, Giovanni, Terry & Reg from TOCA who were present at the Funeral we had a 5 car Thunderbird procession that followed Christine & Belinda in the Funeral car from the family home at Pakenham to Tobin Bros. at Berwick, Matt & Dean drove Phils beautifull Gold 65 bird (Goldmember) and the rest of us dropped in behind, When we arrived at the Funeral home the look on peoples faces told the story, they knew this was no ordinary funeral, the man they had come to farewell was a special person who deserved a special send off.
I know that the Family were very pleased and were really appreciative that Phil's Thunderbird friends had made the effort in memory of Phil. Christine and the Kids also asked me to thank the members of this Forum for their kind words and thoughts, To all the well wishers from here and TOCA thank you all, Phil is no longer with us in person but he will always be with us in spirit.
As we speak Phil is settling in upstairs with an esky full of Bundy and the TV warming on Chanel 7 for Bathurst Tomorrow. I'll be having a quiet Bundy or two Tomorrow in memory of all the good times,
R.I.P my old mate, L.W.E DaveG
Just a foot note: Phil was an organ donor and as a result of his generosity at least 2 people have received organs and had their lives extended, If you'd like to know more please visit this site. http://www.donatelife.gov.au/

Phil laid to rest.
Dave,
Thanks for sharing this.
Beautifully written.
We should all be so lucky to have a friend like you - that clearly cares and gives so much to friends and loved ones.
Looking forward to getting to know more and more Forum members (bit by bit) as we share stories and moments at Thunderbird gatherings.
R.I.P Phil. Enjoy your Bundy & Bathurst this week end from Heaven's front row seats.

Re: Phil laid to rest
Thanks for sharing that with us Dave, as you know I was unable to attend but rest assure dmy thoughts were with you all at that time. Whilst I'll never pretend to know Phil as you did he was a likeable bloke the times I shared with him.
James has summed it up perfectly and I share his sentiments.
