How to DIY Pearl Steering Wheel

Post  DaveG on Mon Apr 16, 2012 8:20 pm

Found this old post over on the FB-EK Holden forum.
The finished wheel looks pretty good. when you consider the price of the real thing.

RE: How to Pearl a Steering Wheel

Dave,

We must of been on the same wave length - this is the site that gave me the idea to "Do it myself" !!

Add the following link to repair the cracks

KBS NuMetal - Epoxy Putty - Steering Wheel Repair

And you have a Cool Steering Wheel for any TBird or Classic.

Very nice, I did attempt those repairs but the cracks kept coming back, I guess the wheel was too far gone. If you see my tbird now I have the Pearlcraft job, for comparison.

Those pearlcraft wheels are amazing,
I was planning on going that way but the budget depleted before I got to that stage, So i just went with the wooden wheel. My brother inlaw sent them a sports wheel 13" and had it done it really looks the goods, He's got it on his amazing 65 Fastback Mustang.
