Greetings Bird collectors! Smile I am the new owner of a 59 Thunderbird with a factory sunroof. By chance would I have one of the prototype birds before Ford signed off on the 1960 sunroof option? I had heard that only about 25 were made with sunroof's in 1959 but that some 2500 were made in 1960 with this option that is listed in the brochure as an option for that year. I do have original matching numbers and I'm the 3rd owner. This Indian Turquoise model also has the 3Y leather package. This is a complete barn find and has been sitting non used since 1987. 71,000 original miles. Of course she is not for sale as I've waited almost a lifetime to own one, I just want to know if this vehicle is an odd rareity. I collect odd models with factory sunroof's in fact I also have a 1978 Ford LTD with factory glass silver moonroof, but I already know the history of that vehicle. Looking forward to your comments.

Hi We wouldn't have the answer to that one here, my suggestion would be to visit the American Forum,
The answer to most TBird questions are available on Vintage Thunderbird, Here is a link you may have to join but they do have a Square bird section.
