A few of us went on a cruise Yesterday to Hastings and we had the pleasure of a new member joining the gang, his name is Steve and not only is he a really nice and interesting guy to talk to he also owns a very UNIQUE and truly immaculate 1966 H/T.......Convertible.... No it's a parade car. i took some reference pics for my brother in law but I new i had to share these photos here.

She started life as a Hardtop and at some point in the States has been converted to a Convertible or more correctly a Parade car as they are called. The work that's gone into this conversion is amazing It even has a lift on/off convertible top stored in the boot and when the roof is in place it's very hard to pick this car from an original Convertible, Check it our for yourself. I Love it.

Evening All,

The photos look amazing, it is so much more practiable than a normal convertible.

Firstly there is a boot, it looks just a cool when the top is down & l guess been a parade car, you can sit on the back ledge without worry of damage.

Down side, you have to manually put the roof up & down manually. Wink

> Did he buy it converted from the States or was it done here??

For me, I think l would have one of these before a normal convertible.

Hi Gio
Yeah Steve bought the car already converted, It had been done in the states, all the parcel shelf area has been reinforced for people to sit there. Fitting the roof is a 2 man job, because the mechanism is almost identical to a factory convertible. very nice setup and as you say does away with all those relays and limit switches etc, I took the pics for my Brother in law whose doing a 65 but with a 2 piece fibreglass roof which will go in the boot. If it ever sees the light of day.

The roof looks like it's been pirated from a '63 Galaxie judging by the fasteners etc, very practical (well maybe not quite so much in wet NZ! Laughing )
