Hi Guys
Things have gone a bit pear shaped since my last visit, Not me I'm not pear shaped. but the Corvette I bought and told you about arrived here and there were problems with Customs they found the car was originally a small block 350 car which had been converted to a 454 without any upgrades being made so they revoked the Import application, They said it cant be registered in Australia. so we came to an agreement that the car would go direct to a workshop to have the engine removed and Import approval would be granted as an unregisterable parts car. meaning it would have to be stripped and sold as parts. While the car was awaiting the engine removal it was stolen from the tow yard, thank god I had insured it for $30k as soon as it arrived, The insurance are asking questions because it wasn't registerable but they've made me an offer and i'm going to accept it, I paid $20k for it not including all the import costs and they'll give me $15k I'm going to accept thier offer and cut my losses. looks like I'll have to add some more money to it and this time I'll buy here in Australia. What a nightmare SuzieQ

Wow, what a crap experience!

So why could you not have sold the 454 and replaced it with a 350??

You Aussies seem to have vehicle laws that are Shocked odd & draconian to say the least... Crying or Very sad

Here in NZ have the 454 instead of a 350 would not have mattered at all.
