A Day at Pirotta Motors.

Post  DaveG on Tue Aug 14, 2012 10:48 pm

After being invited by the Early Falcon Car Club last Saturday to an open day at Pirotta Motors I've gotta say what an amazing setup they have, Joe Pirotta 73 years young was a great host and treated us to a terrific day capped off by firing up the drag racing MK1 Cortina Satisfaction 427 SOHC Huge GMC Blower i'm guessing 14/71 and a top hat fuel injection system. What a car what a sound. I'm sure I saw guys with blood flowing from thier ear drums.

They also got the Engine Dyno cranked up with a small block chev churning out 530hp untuned. There was also the Chassis Dyno and Joe fired up the Hot Rod, this was Australias first Hot Rod and it's as neat Today as it was 55 years ago. Then the highlight of the day Joe allowed a few of us to drive his amazing black 57 Baby Bird, 351 with all the good bits lots of HP from this engine and a 5sp manual, When I drove i was getting Wheel spin in third gear at 80k's very impressive car to drive although very tight for me.

What a great bunch of guys Stan (President) and the members of the early Falcon Club are and the whole Pirotta crew are just special people. I haven't had work done by them but if i ever need an Engine rebuild that will be my first port of call. give em a call if you've got any needs Ph 9546 0500. I reckon you'll love the experience.

Hey Dave,
Did you notice what the tail-lights are in the black '57 ? Custom or Bullet Bird maybe ?
Nice detail.

Well spotted Tony, I'm going with your suggestion or maybe XP Coupe tail lights.
Or maybe Dave can give the Pirrotas a call & end the suspence ?
