SuzieQ's Still searching for a Baby Bird.
Hi Guys,
Still searching for my Baby Bird, there have been 2 really good ones in the States one on Craigs List the other on Ebay, got beaten out on both of them I was talking to Linda last night and we've decided we're going to head over to buy the cars and organise shipping. She says I should buy a convertible too like her and Dad, Her new Partner my Dad and a good friend of mine whose built heaps of cars are coming with us.. At this stage we are thinking August. Has anyone done this trip. any Tips or Pointers would be very helpfull.
P.S the Forum is really flying Dave well done, Oh I'm in Bob's Office & Maureen is here they both say Hi, Lucky devils are heading for Cooly Rocks this afternoon.
Bye for now SuzieQ

Re: SuzieQ's Still searching for a Baby Bird.
Hi jptbird
Thanks for the info, we ended up going to the US early good airfares and the Aus$ is still high anyway I bought a 70 Corvette I'm as shocked as anyone the trip was about finding a Babybird, but while searching we went to a car yard and 2 or 3 private sales I couldn't belive how many Babybirds dont have the extras at all no heater no aircon no pwr steer, nothing.
There was a white 56 in a yard looked great but again no extras it only had a heater
That's when i started rethinking my search I need a car that's got everything and there in the shed of this car yard was a Corvette 1970 Red fully rebuilt and the shape of it just got me, managed to negotiate on it and the deal was done. It should arrive here mid September, I cant wait. My dad did buy a beautifull 65 TBird Convertible
and my Brother after looking at several in the states ended up buying a 62 Coupe here in Melbourne the day after we got back so at least My Dad and Brother will be welcome here . SuzieQ

Hi Suzie
Corvette hey, What were you thinking Girl, Bob will love that he use to own one, we swapped the Engine (350) & Trans (Turbo Hydro) into his EH Holden many years ago.
Well at least the body wont rust.
Good news about your Dad and brother both buying Birds, Your dad posted up a pic of his it looks very nice, tell your Brother we want to see his as well. Shame they live in Tassie would have loved to see the cars on a cruise some time.
Haven't heard much on here from Linda lately hows she doing, still got the Trans Am or has she seen the light LOL Dave

Hi Suzie
great to hear you picked up a car that you love, that's what this hobby is about even though it's a Chev product i'm sure the crew here will still accept you with open arms when the crusing starts.
I almost bought a Babybird and changed to the later model for the same reasons creature comfort, I've never regreted that decision, except that the Babybirds are beautifull to look at but then i spend more time Drinving it than looking at it.
